The RPAG Scoop | December 2024
With 2024 wrapping up this month, we are looking ahead to the future of RPAG and the retirement industry as a whole. In the December edition of The RPAG Scoop, we are taking a look at upcoming RPAG events and the role that mid-cap investments could have in retirement plans.
Upcoming 2025 RPAG Events (0:49)
Ashley Passow, the Senior Marketing Specialist at RPAG and the host of the RPAG Scoop, showcased our upcoming events happening in 2025. She especially wanted to highlight the brand-new IMPACT Labs event series. This event is a chance for you to sit and discuss retirement planning strategies with other advisors and partners in a more collaborative way than any of our other events. In addition to the brand-new IMPACT Labs series, we are adding on an extra Regional Summit location for a total of five Regional Summits in 2025. We also will be hosting multiple online sessions for you to follow along from the comfort of your own office. These sessions cover a variety of topics ranging from fee benchmarking to marketing. We hope to see you either online or in person in 2025!
Don't Ignore Investing's Middle Child (3:16)
Jonathan Bauman, a Senior Client Portfolio Manager for the US midcap growth team at American Century encourages our watchers to not ignore investing’s middle child: “mid cap.” He discusses 3 topics including the historical perspective, how the concentration of the Magnificent 7 has created an environment where exposure to midcaps have shrunk, and American Century’s approach to investing and why they are excited about the opportunities they’re uncovering in the mid-cap market. Through consistently outperforming over time, they are still ahead of large caps. Jonathan says that mid-caps are the sweet spot – they created more than twice the wealth of small-caps; however, many investors may be under exposed. American Century's investment process is run by 3 main principles: themes (which allows them to find opportunities outside normal confines of sectors and industries), quality (meaning durable franchises with great products, business models, and strong management tend to have high or improving invested capital), and inflection (changes in a company’s growth or margin trajectory that shows an attractive entry point into stocks).
We hope you are looking forward to the future as much as we are, and we will see you next month on January 6 with our brand-new looking Scoop!
